Prabhu Deva to remake ‘Ghilli’ for Abishek
After his ‘Wanted’ with Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva is one of the sought-after makers in the Bollywood too. The choreographer-turned-director is all set to start on with his next. While his maiden venture in Hindi was a remake of his own directorial ‘Pokkiri’, the second one is also said to be a remake. The grapevine is abuzz that this upcoming project will be a remake of Vijay's blockbuster hit ‘Ghilli’, which itself was a remake of Mahesh Babu's ‘Okkadu’ from Tollywood.
As 'Wanted' became a trendsetter kinda flick in today’s Hindi industry, there were many other producers who wanted to sign Prabhu Deva. It is said that B-town’s big producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Boney Kapoor were keen to rope in him. But, finally AB Corp, the Bachchans’ company managed to flatter him with their offer.
Sources close to the director said that Prabhu Deva narrated Ghilli’s script to Abhishek almost twenty days back and the actor loved it at once and also immediately agreed to do it. As of now, Prabhu Deva shaping the script to suit the Hindi Junta and is expected to go on floors around June 2010.
On the other hand, Prabhu Deva is in US looking for a heroine. Yup! As we had it before Prabhu Deva will be finishing a Tamil film with ‘Jayam’ Ravi before his Bollywood venture. This untitled flick starring Ravi is said to be produced by Kalpathi Agoram's AGS Entertainment. As Prabhu Deva is coming back to Tamil, long time after his chartbuster ‘Pokkiri’, industry is excited about this one, which is scheduled to go on floors from January 2010 in Paris.
Nakul Is A Pattaasu- Prabhu Deva
It was indeed fireworks with the energetic firebrand Nakul at the audio launch of Kalpathy S Aghoram’s Kandkottai at the Sathyam Cinemas.The function saw the presence of biggie Harris Jayraj who released the music along with Prabu Deva, Lingusamy, KV Anand, Arya, Editor Mohan, Jeyam Ravi, Poorna, Nakul, Pandu, Vivega, Radha Mohan and Priya V amongst others.Sakthivel, the director making his debut is a former assistant to Priya V and following the lead of his guru he too asked for a photo with the entire team of his movie on stage, giving them due credit. Prabu Deva called Nakul a Pattassu while Jeyam Ravi acknowledged that Nakul’s energy levels were so high it was difficult to pin him down in one place like he was in this function. Dhina who has done the music was very grateful that Harris came for his function since the music director works late nights till early morning and usually does not come for such events held in the mornings.Three songs were screened shot in New Zealand, out of which Nakul has sung one. “I am big fan of Prabu Deva especially after seeing him perform at Kamal’s function,” confessed Lingusamy.
Prabhu Deva and Harris Jayaraj to join hands
Devi Shri Prasad was so far composing the music for the Tamil films directed by Prabhu Deva. But for the first time Prabhu Deva is joining hands with Harris Jayaraj.
Prabhu Deva is quite happy these days after the hit of his Hindi film Wanted. He is getting lot of offers in Bollywood. But he has told them that he swill be back after directing a Tamil film. He has planned to direct a film which will have Jayam Ravi in the lead role.
Harris Jayaraj is composing music for this film. This film is about two Tamil families who live in Paris. The hero and the heroine when they meet fail in love with each other.
Shruthi Haasan or Anushka might pair with Jayam Ravi. The shooting of this film will commence once Jayam Ravi completes Thillalangadi.
Prabhu Deva’S Deal With Jeyam Ravi Confirmed
So, it’s no more in the pipeline as producer Kalapathy S Agoram makes an official confirmation about his next project with ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and Prabhu Deva.Both ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and producer Kalapathy S Agoram of AGS Entertainment have been sharing great rapport over a long period of time. He churned out his ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’ and indeed has acquired rights over his ‘Thillalangadi’ (remake of Telugu movie ‘Kick’).After making high waves with his debut in Bollywood with ‘Wanted’, Prabhu Deva will now wield megaphone for ‘Jeyam’ Ravi’s film. As of now, nothing has been revealed more about the film’s theme or crewmembers. But one predict that it would be a commercial entertainer with the great combo involved with it.

The curtains were drawn on the long running dance talent show Amul Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva as the finalists sizzled on the stages in front of their idol Prabhu Deva. It was a day when the air was filled with the thoughts of Prabhu Deva’s idol Michael Jackson and the dancers paid tribute to the POP Icon. The finals which was carried live was held on June 26, 2009 at the YMCA Grounds where the nation’s Michael Jackson “Prabhu Deva” himself was present for the 4 hour LIVE mega show and passed on his dance mantle to SHERIF , a small town boy from Coimbatore .Launched in August 2009, the show has received many appreciation and has redefined dance altogether. Thousands of young and aspirant dancers across Tamilnadu – Coimbatore, Tiruchi and Chennai took part in the ground auditions of Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva. In the end – Premgopal, Sherif, Nanda and Manijkumar – were the chosen four finalists. They were given a lifetime chance to perform in front of the dancing icon “Prabhu Deva”. The highlight of the evening was when Prabhu Deva started off the show with a never seen before emotional act dedicated to his mentor Michael Jackson. It was a highly emotional moment and as Prabhu Deva said “the show had to go on” and it did with renewed vigor.
Television history was recreated when the dancing legend of the nation – Prabhu Deva took the center stage and performed for four minutes with the finalists. “A show named after me gives me great honor and I realize the huge responsibility of taking dance to the next level”, commented the dancing legend about the show. “Also this show is close to my heart and these talented dancers are a real find and their dance skills are mind-blowing”, continued Prabhu Deva. On speaking about his dancing idol, Prabhu Deva commented saying, “Michael Jackson is one of the reasons for me to be a dancer that I’m today. I grew up watching his videos and feel bad that he is no more. But the show must go on and we dedicate this evening to him. “
Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva is the first of its kind show in Tamil Television where the participants chance to perform many kinds of dance forms like the salsa, jazz, ballet and many more international dance rotuines. The show was graced by many popular artists like Sneha, Gayatri Raguram, Lakshmi Rai, Sada, Shobhana, Gawthami, Pooja, Aachi Manorama, Anand Babu, Simbu, Shyam, Santhanu, Jeeva, Arya, Vishnu Varadhan, Jeyam Ravi, Bharath and many other popular faces from the film fraternity have judged the contestants’ performance. Apart from them dance masters like Sundaram, Saroj Khan, Puliyur Saroja, Raguram Master, Master Johny, Ashok Raja, Cool Jeyanth all have appreciated the dancing skills of these contestants.The finalists performed to two competitive rounds in the mega LIVE finals; first round was the western round and the second was of the contestant’s choice. Apart from getting the most prestigious title “Next Prabhu Deva”, the winner Sherif also got a cash prize worth Rs. 10 lakhs. The runners up Premgopal, Manijkumar and Nanda were given away Rs. 1 lakh.
Apart from the crowning ceremony, special performances of classical dancer Shobhana, Rukmani and Ragasiya were also part of this mega LIVE show. The LIVE show was hosted by Ramya and Prabhu Deva’s students’ and now dance masters Dinesh, Ashok Raja, Johny, Tarun, Bhaskar, Cool Jeyanth, John, Robert, Sridhar, Shobhi were also a part of the event.
The repeat of this event is to be played on July 3rd at 1900 hrs on Vijay TV.
Prabhu Deva at IIFA
There has always been a strong allegation that South Indian films and stars are neglected at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards. This issue seems to have been taken care of this year. The latest buzz in Bollywood is that Prabhu Deva will choreograph a dance for Salman Khan. More importantly, Prabhu Deva will also join Salman on stage for this performance. Prabhu Deva, incidentally, is the choreographer of the film Wanted in which Salman plays the lead role.
The brand ambassador of the IIFA, Amitabh Bachchan, along with his family comprising wife Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan will be present at the venue.

Prabhu Deva acts in Kalavadiya Pozhuthugal

Actor turned director Prabhu Deva has confirmed that he will play the lead role in Thankar Bachchan’s new film poetically titled Kalavadiya Pozhudugal.
It is after four years that Prabhu Deva is doing a full length role in a Tamil film after Engal Anna (2005). He has made cameo appearances in songs in films he directed like Pokiri and Villu.
Produced by Ayngaran international, the formal pooja was held recently in AVM and very few only attended the event.
Bhumika Chawla is playing the female lead after a break and Prakash Raj is also in the cast.
Says Thankar Bachan,"Kalavadiya Pozhudugal, is a brilliant story and is something different from the usual run of the mill movies. It is a lovers special film and I'm sure that the film would be a turning point in the history of Tamil cinema!"

Prabhu Deva’s new plans confirmed
It is now confirmed that Prabhu Deva will star in the Thangar Bachchan directed venture Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal. There has been reports on and off about Prabhu Deva playing the lead and opting out for various reasons. But then it was announced some time ago that Prabhu Deva set aside his own directorial ventures to star in the film.
The latest buzz is that Thangar Bachchan plans to shoot 90 per cent of Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal in the
US. Considering his earlier ventures, which were all based in villages, this should be a new experiment by Thangar. Bhoomika will share screen space with Prabhu Deva in Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal.

Prabhu Deva choreographs Nayan's song
Last week the famous dance master Prabhu Deva came to Kottayam and choreographed a dance for Siddique's Bodyguard. The song featured Dileep and Nayanthara.
Remember Prabhudeva is a full fledged film director who had recently done the Vijay- Nayanthara Tamil film Villu. He is also doing the Hindi film Wanted with Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia.
Prabudeva has off late stopped doing choreography and even in Villu he has not done choreography for any of the songs. But in the case of Bodyguard he made an exemption, as Nayan is one of his favourite heroines.
The last time Prabhudeva choreographed a song in Malayalam was some 18 years back when he did Jayaraj's Johnnywalker!
